Here's what's in my studio: two paintings of flowers from my garden and two studies after Bonnard in an effort to explore their light, color and sense of ease. Those studies feel so good to make, I am surprised by how much more (even) I am able to enjoy those paintings when I have a brush in my hand and I am trying to decode them, its a joy. (Incidentally I find this is true for me working in any medium, pencil or watercolor paint, regardless of the medium in which the original was executed.)
I am preparing to truly swing into summer with a few weeks of family vacation so there won't be studio time until late August but I will bring my little travel easel and hope to continue to find a weekly plein air session. As usual, I'll post my watercolor sketches along-side Elizabeth's on moveable paintbox.
