I love drawing at the RISD Museum because sketching seems to magically increase the museum's content and my interest in it exponentially. What strikes me as funny is the fact that I am surprised by this every single sketch, year after year, that it never fails to amaze me how the world actually seems to change before my eyes as I make lines in a page.
In this five session course we will sketch in different galleries each class to explore the art with a focus on patterns and forms. Classes will include the new Donghia Costume and Textiles Gallery, this fall's exhibition What Nerve! and familiar favorites like Pendleton house with its treasure trove. Experienced artists and beginners alike have enjoyed the experience of drawing as part of a group at the museum.
