In addition to adventure and discovery, school vacation week brought illness and injury (along with their attendant mellow contemplation and snuggle time). I am pretty excited about the prospect of a return to routine and am looking forward to more watercolor classes at Tea in Sahara on Wednesdays (the home of this Moroccan lantern).

I love the sparkling reflections on the ceiling above the lantern.

Thanks Sue! I used a bit of misket (or similar?) to mask the white of the page-but not until about half way through the painting. i liked the effect there but then in another painting i went overboard and didn't like the effect. the novelty of the misket distracted me from the drawing.
