Painting #435.

This one is also for "Birds of a Feather".  The opening reception will be Saturday October 1, 6-9PM, 175 Narragansett Ave, Barrington RI.  10"x10", oil on canvas.

Painting #432, Getting ready for Elyse.

Get this:  Elyse Press Major  of tinkered treasures is going to write about our home for "Cottages and Bungalows" magazine.  It is an exciting excuse to fix things up. (Although I did not, in fact, spend all morning "styling" those legos just so.)  The threat of publishing pictures of our home in a national magazine is an effective prod for tidying up, we took all sorts of things to the salvation army yesterday.  

Today's painting is that one on the back wall, its been brewing for a little while now.  (36"x36", oil on canvas, spoken for before it was finished I am happy to say.)

Well there they were at the market.  Again.  Available here.  (Incidentally this pomegranate tea towel that I am so enamored of came from Comina on Wayland Square in Providence.)

#430, my apologies to Helen.

Waning gibbous moon at 61% from about 7:45PM.  It changes right there as I am painting.  I told Helen "Yes, Saturn next!".  But for some reason the moon on my clever phone is far more compelling-irresistible in fact- than the Saturn.    (That is a pomegranate you see back there, just waiting for tomorrow morning.)

Waning Gibbous 81%

 6"x6", oil on masonite, available here.  The stars between Kansas City and Marshall Missouri are very bright.  Because of this, somehow, the gracious Charity-Mika Woodard of MOVAL told me about stargazing apps.  Just dazzling.  Mine tells me the phase of the moon for one thing.  -Have you seen the book "Glow in the Dark Constellations"?  Oh its so good!  and it got us rolling along our greek and roman myths path.   (Now Captain Spectacular will make remarks such as "don't you know that's Andromeda mommy?".  Or, when I forget the name of the largest planet in our solar system, with a shrug, "Just remember its the Roman Zeus".  These moments puff me up me with parental pride.  Pride forgotten when he sits down to our host's carefully prepared dinner and proclaims "No! I want pizza!".)
