I got to spend a day in new york! First I picked up a painting of Michael's from Flowers Gallery in Chelsea. Then I took a walk on the celebrated High Line, really great (though incidentally I got more bug bites in three blocks than on my entire trip to Maine.) I mooned over the stunning collection at the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art (my first trip, thank's for the tip Colette!) and bough a copy of "Worlds of Transformation: The Tibetan Art of Wisdom and Compassion" on sale for $20!!. Afterwards I traveled to Brooklyn for a visit with my friend Debra. On the way home I stopped on Atlantic Avenue to peruse the nifty furniture shops. 10 minutes before closing I sumbled upon Layla, a beautifully curated shop where I did not even bother to ask the cost of a throw pillow but simply to take its photo; the shopkeepers cheerfully obliged and that accounts for the first furry flower watercolor.
