More in the this series. To be grand about the process I was thinking of Gerhard Richter when I conceived of this painting but it wound up feeling more like Oskar Kokoschka or Matisse circa 1905.

Wow. The un self conscious expression you've managed to capture is truly amazing.

Thank you! I feel like i am letting myself follow the small quiet particular painting proclivity (as opposed to "I should paint x, y or z.") and that seems like a good thing for my creativity. Actually, the un- self concious expression was in my refence photo. I wish my son would let me take more photos of him, it takes about 25 pics to get a couple of un-self conscious ones.
