A students came in today wanting to paint this beach in Costa Rica. she didn't have to twist my arm. Snowy rain is now falling from the sky in Providence. At Punta Uva you can stay in a tree house and sleep in the tree tops.
Because I read this article about Cori Schumacher. "That's not my name" came up on my ipod and seemed particularly appropriate. I am remembering one of Michael's paintings. I like noticing where he and I cross over artistically. (Incidentally, since I linked to that particular painting here's a story: when michael was working on it the year our son turned one, I had to muster my courage to quiet my jealousy and casually ask "So, uh, who's the girl in your painting?" His answer: "Don't you remember our Honeymoon?, thats you". oh. It feels good to remember that particular me.)
I think the painting was in an effort to reconnect with the therapy space where I don't judge myself in the way I do outside of the office. I love how the White Stripes neatly summarize therapy and art making in their 53 second song "little room".
